On-Line Book Studies:

Understanding by Design
The Alabama Best Practices Center invites you to participate in their next on-line book study, conducted by Grant Wiggins and Jay McTighe. As a participant in the on-line book study, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge about teaching and curriculum development with your peers. Join us in learning to design courses and units that emphasize understanding and "uncoverage" rather than coverage.
The Study will begin May 1, 2002 with Chapter 1. An overview of the chapter and key points for reflection will be posted on a special section of the Best Practices Center website. Then every two weeks, the study will move to the next chapter. Participants will be able to enter their comments and responses directly onto the website.
